NFL Week 7 Picks: Philadelphia Eagles Tight End Brent Celek Should Be Big

With DeSean Jackson ruled out with a serious concussion suffered last week against the Atlanta Falcons, it stands to reason that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb will lean on targets like Brent Celek and Jeremy Maclin even more in the passing game.

Maclin benefited the most from the absence of Jackson for the duration of last week's win over the Falcons, but I expect Kolb to look Celek's way with increasing regularity in the Eagles' battle with the Tennessee Titans in Week 7.

Celek has struggled with drops at times this year and has yet to have big numbers in terms of receiving yards, but Kevin Kolb seems to look for him in the red zone. His value this week hinges on Kolb's ability to find Celek for a touchdown, which I think will happen.

The Titans will be focused on shutting down Jeremy Maclin, who became the number one passing target without Jackson in there, and Celek stands to benefit as a result. I can see him having his best receiving yardage of...
