Philadelphia Eagles Cut Max Jean-Gilles, But He Will Re-Sign Sunday

In case you hadn't heard, the Eagles traded Stacy Andrews to the Seattle Seahawks for a seventh-round pick. Okay, you probably heard, but what you might not have heard is the procedural garbage that went into making the trade work.

So, because the Seahawks and Eagles couldn't complete the Andrews trade before the 6:00 PM deadline, Andrews counted towards the Eagles' final roster. Meaning that right now, as far as the league is concerned, Andrews is still an Eagle.

It's a bit more complicated than that, but nothing worth going into.

That put the Eagles at 54 players. So, in order to get to the maximum of 53, they were forced to cut Max Jean-Gilles for the time being.

They have told Jean-Gilles and the media, however, that they have every intention of re-signing him once Andrews is taken off the roster and they drop to 52 players.
Jean-Gilles is technically a free agent and can sign wherever he'd like, but all indications are that he'll stay on board as ...
