Philadelphia Eagles News and Notes: Sixth Rookie Signs, Another LB Added

The Philadelphia Eagles front office has been buzzing with rookie signings and added position depth to the roster early in this week.
Today they have announced the signing of rookie DE/LB Ricky Sapp to a four year deal.
Sapp is a prototypical sized SAM linebacker at 6'4", 252 lbs but he also displays a unique quickness about him with his hands in the ground as a defensive end.
He will serve as a great change of pace type defender at either position for the Eagles in 2010 and beyond.
They have also added Upper Darby native LB Simoni Lawrence to the roster as well. Sapps' deal, which is a four year deal, gives the Eagles their sixth rookie signing since the draft.
Lawrence was a signed by the St. Louis Rams after this years draft, but was released on May 25.
When asked about his feelings on staying in Philly, Lawrence said:
"To stay in Philadelphia, this is a dream come true. I'm so happy to be out here," he said. "I wanted to come home. ...
