Evaluating NFL quarterbacks is a complex practice.
There are 32 quarterbacks in the NFL, but every single player is unique in what he is asked to do and what kind of support he receives. The specifics of each individual player and their current situations mean that the position's label is often misleading. You can't group every player together and rank them as equals.
Instead, the minutia and subtleties must be taken into account. To do that, you must understand how to evaluate the quarterback separate from his surroundings but also evaluate his surroundings to understand how they affect the end result.
