Raiders Secure Votes in State Senate for Stadium Deal Wednesday, Oct. 12 According to Jeff Gillan of News 3 in Las Vegas, the Nevada Senate voted and passed a stadium deal at a 16-5 count on Tuesday. The voting occurred in what was the second day of a special session at the Nevada State Capitol.
Ian Cull of NBC Bay Area noted the stadium deal needs to be passed by the Assembly, which will reconvene on Thursday, after being approved by the Senate.
Supporters for the deal spoke on Monday and stressed that the use of tax dollars to fund the stadium would ultimately bolster the Nevada economy. Opponents responded on Tuesday and were concerned with the tax raise.
