Randall Cobb on Low Hits: NFL Needs a Tackling Zone

Ask players like Dustin Keller, Reggie Wayne, Randall Cobb and Rob Gronkowski what they think about low hits and you'll undoubtedly get an impassioned reply.
All of these receivers have suffered serious injuries this year due to defensive backs going low, ostensibly avoiding fines that would occur if they went after receivers up top. 
Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is the latest victim, suffering a torn ACL and MCL after Browns safety T.J. Ward hit Gronk in the knee on Sunday. The Patriots will have to move on without their All-Pro tight end and could suddenly find themselves as vulnerable as the receivers who have been taken out by these low hits.
Randall Cobb suffered a broken leg in Week 6 after taking a low hit from Ravens safety Matt Elam. It was a hit that quarterback Aaron Rodgers took exception to, saying Elam could have easily changed the area he was targeting. Cobb seems to agree.
