Report: Kansas City Chiefs Contacted Ryan Lilja About Coming Back

According to Adam Teicher of The Kansas City Star, the Kansas City Chiefs reached out to retired interior guard Ryan Lilja about returning for the 2013 season. Lilja announced his retirement immediately after the 2012 regular season concluded.
Lilja, who will turn 32 in October, said at the end of last season that he would have surgeries on his knee and toe, which he had to delay until his career was finished, according to Teicher.
The Chiefs have Jeff Allen coming off a rookie year and playing at left guard after Lilja had to shift to center. On the right side, the Chiefs have Jon Asamoah, who will be in his fourth season this upcoming year.
Although general manager John Dorsey and head coach Andy Reid were not the ones who signed Lilja to the Chiefs, they may think that he is a better option than what the Chiefs have at the moment.
