Roger Goodell Requests Moment of Silence Before NFL Games After Paris Attacks

NFL teams have been asked by Commissioner Roger Goodell to hold a moment of silence before kickoffs Sunday out of respect for those affected by Friday's terrorist attacks in Paris, according to NFL spokesperson Greg Aiello.
Goodell's gesture is similar to those taken by various teams and leagues across the United States since news broke of Friday's devastating attacks.
According to Yahoo Sports' Marc J. Spears, "NBA teams have been encouraged by the league to play the French national anthem and have a moment of silence" before Saturday night's showdowns.
The NFL also released a statement Saturday, noting it will increase security inside and outside of stadiums throughout the weekend as a precautionary measure.
