Ron Parker Re-Signs with Chiefs: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction

Even though it seemed like Ron Parker would be finding a new home, the free-agent safety has reportedly agreed to a long-term deal that will keep him with the Kansas City Chiefs.
According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, Parker's agreement with the Chiefs will pay him $30 million over five years:
That's a big investment by the Chiefs in Parker, who had an inconsistent performance last season, but it speaks to the team's belief that his highs are more indicative of what the future holds.
As B/R draft expert Matt Miller noted on Twitter, the Chiefs are taking the rare free-agent tactic of paying for what Parker's future instead of what's already happened:
In terms of what Parker can do, even though there were some down moments, like Terez A. Paylor of the Kansas City Star noting the 27-year-old gave up 15 completions for 174 yards and two touchdowns in a two-game stretch against Seattle and Oakland, there were standout moments.
