Saints Vs. Seahawks: How The ‘Hawks Upset The Defending Super Bowl Champs

The Seattle Seahawks (7-9) upset the defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints (11-5) today as they finished with a 41-36 victory.
So, not only does the first playoff game feature a losing squad, but it's also the first in which one won. It just goes to show, anything  can happen in the playoffs.
The Seahawks were down 10-0 early, but they came back, leading 24-20 at the half primarily because tight end John Carlson caught a pair of touchdown passes.
Of course, they knew they must come out swinging in the second half, and they did exactly that as they scored another 10 points to give them a two-score lead going into the final period.
The Saints would orchestrate a comeback and score 17 points in the fourth, but it proved to not be enough.
What killed them was the Seahawks rushing attack which amassed 149 yards, including an astounding 67-yard touchdown run from running back Marshawn Lynch that ultimately sealed the deal.
