The Seahawks selected 10 players in the 2012 NFL draft. It remains to be seen if the eight defensive (1-Bruce Irvin, DE; 2-Bobby Wagner, LB; 4-Jaye Howard, DT; 4-Korey Toomer, OLB; 6-Jeremy Lane, CB; 6-Winston Guy, S; 7-J.R. Sweezy, DE; 7-Greg Scruggs, DL) and two offensive (2-Russell Wilson, QB; 4-Robert Turbin, RB) picks can help Seattle become a playoff team.
Seattle failed to make the playoffs and finished the 2011 season with a 7-9 record. They ranked No. 9 in total defense and No. 28 in total offense.
Despite the team’s lackluster offensive production, head coach Pete Carroll and GM John Schneider decided to select mostly defensive players in the draft.
First-rounder Irvin may have the best chance of significant playing time.  Wilson and Turbin are two undersized offensive players that could make an impression in their rookie seasons.
