St. Louis Rams Underdogs To Visiting Washington Redskins

The 1-1 Washington Redskins head to St. Louis to take on the 0-2 Rams in a Week 3 NFC non-division matchup. The Redskins only won four games in 2009, but they already look like a much more competitive football team under new head coach Mike Shanahan. NFL odds makers expect Washington to be halfway to its 2009 win total following Week 3, listing the Redskins as a 3.5-point favorite with the total set at 38.
The Redskins blew a chance at a 2-0 start when they gave up a 17-point third quarter lead and lost to Houston in overtime. Washington’s inability to run the football kept it from running out the clock and kept Houston in the game.
The Redskins enter Week 3 as the worst rushing team in the NFL. They have amassed just 107 yards on the ground in two games. Starting running back Clinton Portis has 96 of those yards, and he has been held to 3.1 yards per carry.
