Tanard Jackson Set to Enter Rehab En Route to Rejoining Buccaneers in 2011

Suspended Buccaneers safety Tanard Jackson will take his first step toward reinstatement by entering a rehabilitation center, according to Steve Wyche of NFL.com.

Jackson was suspended for four games in 2009 for violating the league’s substance abuse policy and was subsequently suspended for the entire 2010 season last week after a third violation.

Jackson was a fourth-round draft pick by the Buccaneers in 2007 out of Syracuse University, where he earned All-Big East second-team honors, finishing his collegiate career with five interceptions and 165 tackles.
As a Buccaneer, 2010 would have been his fourth season. He has already amassed 204 tackles as a pro and eight interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns.

Without Jackson in the lineup, the Buccaneers turned to rookie Cody Grimm, who struggled in his first NFL start against the Steelers on Sunday, a 38-13 Buccaneer loss.
