Ted Thompson a Master Manager? The Green Bay Packers Think So

The Packers have announced that they've rewarded their General Manager Ted Thompson with a long-term contract extension. While the terms have not yet been made public, the deal was made back in December and will add a few more years to the six Thompson has already spent in Green Bay.
Even though the Packers didn't know they'd be Super Bowl champs back in December, they knew that Thompson had constructed a young, deep team that is thriving with talent. He earned the extension by sticking to his personal philosophies, developing future stars from the draft and not diving too deep in the free agent pool.
What was thought by most to be a terrible mistake at the time—trading Brett Favre, a future Hall of Fame quarterback—is now one of the most genius and gutsy moves in the history of the business.
Thompson knew that he had a young star QB waiting behind Favre, and he would have no more of the legend's retirement indecision nonsense. It's fair to say...
