Tony Romo Injury: Updates on Cowboys Star’s Back and Return

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo left Thursday's preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks with an apparent back injury, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It is unclear when he will return to the lineup.

Romo Exits vs. Seahawks Friday, Aug. 26 ESPN's Ed Werder reported the Cowboys will decide later whether Romo needs an MRI or other tests on his back but noted the injury is not currently considered serious. 
The injury came as Seahawks defensive end Cliff Avril tackled Romo from behind in the first quarter, per Gregg Bell of the News Tribune on Thursday. The NFL shared a replay of the hit:
He was ruled out for the rest of the game, per Dave Boling of the News Tribune.
The Seattle Times' Bob Condotta reported that Dak Prescott replaced Romo under center. The 36-year-old was not on the bench at the start of the second half, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.
