The San Francisco 49ers may be without a veteran pass-catcher as wide receiver Torrey Smith suffered a back injury in the lead-up to Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Latest on Smith's Status Friday, Oct. 21 Smith was listed as questionable for Sunday's game on the 49ers' official injury report after being limited for the past two days of practice.
Smith has followed a disappointing 2015 campaign with an underwhelming start to 2016. Through six games, he caught just 12 passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns as San Francisco's fourth-leading pass catcher.
Last season was Smith's first in San Francisco after four years with the Baltimore Ravens, and it was his least productive season to date, as he set or tied career lows with 33 receptions for 663 yards and four touchdowns.
Despite his struggles, the 49ers did little to address the wideout position during the offseason, which left him at the top of the depth chart.
