Vance McDonald, 49ers Agree to New Contract: Latest Details, Comments, Reaction

The San Francisco 49ers have avoided free agency with tight end Vance McDonald, signing him to a five-year, $35 million deal on Friday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Adam Caplan. 
McDonald is set to make $16 million guaranteed under his new deal. 
The 26-year-old is in his fourth NFL season and is on pace to put up career numbers. 
Having never had more than 30 catches in a season, McDonald already has 24 through 10 games with a career-best 391 yards and four touchdowns. 
At 6'4", 267 pounds, McDonald has developed into a big target whom San Francisco quarterbacks have been using to their advantage in the red zone, via the NFL:
