Volkswagen Super Bowl Commercial: Get A Sneak Peek at VW’s 2012 Black Beetle

Expectations for Super Bowl commercials are always high. It is a reputation built on the backs of some of the classics: the Budweiser Clydesdale horses playing football with a zebra referee, Reebok's Terry Tate, the office linebacker, crushing co-workers and Michael J. Fox running through the streets to get his new beautiful neighbor a Diet Pepsi.
The only problem with the reputation that Super Bowl commercials have garnered is that they keep getting more expensive and companies insist on playing them for months to get their money's worth. Of course, they are played during all sports broadcasts so there is no escaping them for sports fans.
When Volkswagen uses Ram Jam's "Black Betty," it's a great start. I don't mind hearing that song for 30 seconds every half hour during a baseball game. Add to it a beetle racing through the jungle like a sports car and VW put together a solid ad.
