Washington Redskins Latest Staff Departure Not Linked to Manti Te’o-Like Hoax

In the third time in as many weeks, the Washington Redskins announced the departure of a member of their front office—the latest being their Director of Player Development, Phillip Daniels.  Daniels, a 15-year NFL veteran defensive end who spent seven season with the Redskins until 2010, left to pursue a possible coaching position, one that was not available with the team.
Daniels last major project with the team was related to a similar scenario that surrounded 2012 Heisman runner-up Manti Te'o. Daniels worked with Redskins players who could be "duped" by a person using direct messages via Twitter and Facebook.
Daniels posted a locker room memo in December 2012 warning, “Stay away from @RedRidnH00d. Avoid her on Twitter. Avoid her on Instagram. Do not converse with this person on any social media platform. She is not who she claims to be.”
The NFL investigated the case and no response has been made publicly.
