Washington Redskins Sign Oshiomogho Atogwe to 5-Year, $26 Million Deal

Oshiomogho Atogwe, the venerable safety from the St. Louis Rams, has agreed to a five-year deal that will leave him firmly secured on the Washington Redskins’ roster. 
Atogwe’s addition is a welcomed one on a defensive squad that struggled all throughout the 2010-2011 season. In combination with existing safety LaRon Landry, the Redskins appear to have made a very solid, very necessary addition to their otherwise hurting personnel depth dilemma. 
One benefit that Atogwe has is his ability to play deep in the middle and to stealthily move around as a sleeper during evolving plays. Atogwe’s skill set in Cover 2, in addition to various blitz packages, make his arrival all the more savory for the 31st-ranked defense in the league.
