Gut check time in Washington.

The Washington Redskins just suffered the franchise’s most humiliating defeat since the 1940’s, a 73-0 loss to the Chicago Bears in the NFL Championship game.

The game was actually winnable for Washington. The team surprised the Eagles earlier in the year with a win in the City of Brotherly Love. In addition, the seemingly rejuvenated Redskins had taken down a pair of preseason Super Bowl contenders in the Dallas Cowboys (insert joke here) and the Green Bay Packers.

However, in the last two minutes of the Detroit Lions game, the last match before the bye week, head coach Mike Shanahan threw a wrench in the works. Despite still having a chance to come back for a victory, Shanny threw Rex Grossman into the game, instead of the team’s franchise quarterback.
