Week 5 NFL Lines: Houston Texans Field Goal Favorites Over New York Giants

After back-to-back blowout losses to the Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans, the New York Giants bounced back strong behind a dominant defensive performance. They held the Chicago Bears to just 110 total yards and sacked Jay Cutler nine times on their way to a 17-3 win.
New York will need another strong defensive performance if it hopes to upset the Houston Texans Sunday.
The Texans improved to 3-1 with a win over the Oakland Raiders last week. The NFL’s fourth-ranked scoring offense put 31 points on the scoreboard in the win. The Texans also rank No. 2 in total offense, averaging 415.5 yards per game. NFL odds makers are giving the edge to the better offensive team this week, listing the Texans as a three-point favorite with the total set at 47.
Led by quarterback Matt Schaub, the Texans boasted the NFL’s No. 1 ranked passing attack in 2009. This year, Houston is torching its opponents with its running game.
