Week 8 NFL Predictions: Saints Slight Favorites Over Steelers

The 5-1 Pittsburgh Steelers know a thing or two about Super Bowl hangovers.  After all, they have failed to make the playoffs following both of their Super Bowl wins the past five years. The 4-3 New Orleans Saints are trying to buck the trend by making a run at another championship.
The last two Super Bowl winners are all set to do battle on NBC’s Sunday night football in New Orleans. NFL odds makers are expecting a nail-biter, listing the Saints as a 1.5-point favorite with the total set at 44.5.
Just when it looked like the Saints might be back with a 31-6 blowout win at Tampa Bay, they were shocked at home with a 30-17 loss to Cleveland last week.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Turnovers can kill the best of teams. They have certainly hurt Drew Brees and the Saints this season.
