Why Terrell Owens Should Be Signed: Just Give the Guy a Chance

Pretty much everyone I know does not like Terrel Owens. They say he is a cancer for locker rooms and causes bad chemistry between players.
I disagree completely. I feel that while Owens has caused some bad feelings between him and a few other players, these incidents are over-hyped by the media.
Let's take Terrell's "gay" comments about Jeff Garcia. First off, when I first heard this story reported, the mainstream media wanted to make it sound like Owens just came out and named Garcia a homosexual.
He actually did not; he implied it, and I personally think he was half-joking, half not realizing what he was actually saying. It was probably not meant to be personal, but it turned out that way. I think Owens doesn't think about what he says before he says it—he just says stuff.
That being said, I think most of his teammates recognize this and just ignore him. His problems with the Eagles were mostly with management and his contract.
