Will Kevin Kolb Be Brought Up Slowly in the Philadelphia Eagles Offense?

You can’t help but spend a lot of time thinking how Kevin Kolb will perform in the Eagles' offense this year.
He’s definitely a different quarterback than Donovan McNabb, but has what it takes to find success. Coming into the season as a starter for the first time, I’ll be interested to see if he is kept on a short leash at the start of the season.
If you saw Jimmy Clausen’s freshmen year at Notre Dame, Charlie Weis limited him with his throws. The Clausen that played last year was a completely different quarterback than the one who played as a freshman. He was allowed to throw the ball down field all he wanted last year, but he was forced to throw a ton of swing passes and short slants as a freshman.
There is a huge difference between Clausen coming to Notre Dame as a freshmen and Kolb starting the season in his fourth year in the NFL. However, Kolb is still very unproven, much like Clausen was when he went to South Bend.
