Ziggy Hood to Redskins: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction

While the offseason has yet to officially start, the Washington Redskins already began the process of beefing up their defense by signing defensive lineman Ziggy Hood on Tuesday.  
According to Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan, Washington agreed to a one-year deal with the 28-year-old veteran. Mike Jones of the Washington Post later confirmed the report.
Hood is a seven-year veteran who was selected in the first round of the 2009 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
After spending the first five seasons of his career with the Steelers, Hood signed a four-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Hood lasted just over one season with the Jags, though, as they placed him on injured reserve before cutting him early in the 2015 campaign. He caught on with the Chicago Bears and appeared in two games for the organization, but he was ultimately waived in December.
